Brown’s has been in existence for over 32 years. Delia and Andy Stirling are the current owners. Delia’s parents (The Brown’s) started making cheese back when the only other cheese producer was KCC. There was a ban on imported cheese by the Kenyan government. Delia’s dad loved brie so he convinced his wife to try making it, as she’s a trained chef, so she made some with the extra milk they had from two cows in the garden. The rest is history. Brown’s take their cheese abroad and have won a number of international cheese competitions. In 2010 they won seven 1st prizes and four 2nd prizes in South Africa, at the dairy championships.
